I live with my husband, John, our dogs, cat, bees and visiting ducks in Hertfordshire. It’s a busy home due to our Border Collies, Len and Dotty, who occupy much of our down time. When we aren’t out walking, there’s nothing that some live music or time spent with friends won’t sort out.

Having worked in the corporate sector and run my own sustainable design business, this aspect of my life was inspired by our own celebrant led wedding ceremony in our back garden. We both wanted something that reflected who we are, our hopes and aspirations of the life we were to share and the love we have for each other. We had a brilliant day and our ceremony was bang on the button!

A few years later when my father died, despite sharing information and his life story, the funeral ceremony did not reflect his achievements, life adventures or the man that I knew. On speaking to friends and family many said they had experienced the same.

I decided that becoming a Civil Celebrant was something that I could do to make life events a more positive experience for everyone.

With a background in sales and marketing, public speaking comes naturally. In my roles within business sponsorship sales and the charity sector I’ve organised a wide range of events. My previous experience has made me crucially aware that the details are key.

On my journey I have met the most amazing people. I have been privileged to have spoken on behalf of the bereaved and shared the life stories of those they have loved; Celebrated the welcoming of new family members via Naming ceremonies; Honoured to celebrate the love that couples declare with their family and friends through a Wedding, Partnership or Vow renewal ceremony.

The areas I serve are predominantly within North and East Hertfordshire, West Essex, South Cambs. However, I have wheels and will travel farther afield.
